USA-Kenya Annual Mission: Sharing God’s Word in Embu

📅 July 2025

Day 3 of our July 2025 mission was filled with powerful moments of love, connection, and purpose. Our first visit was to a marginalized community meeting in an abandoned building. Despite their harsh conditions, their faith was unwavering. Missionary Ionica Gladden and her husband Joshua Gladden (Founder of LEA Foundation – USA) encouraged them with a heartfelt message, followed by Bible distribution.

Later, we visited Tabitha 3 Christian Rescue Centre in Embu — a home for children whose parents are in prison. The children sang and danced joyfully, and each one received a Bible to carry with them the light of God’s Word.

In the afternoon, we were welcomed warmly at the Embu Women’s Prison. After a short sermon by the Gladdens, we distributed 72 Bibles to the inmates. The need was so great that we couldn’t give enough to everyone — we trust God to make more available in future missions.

Before leaving, we stopped by the prison office to meet Warden Elizabeth. A touching farewell came from a female guard who hugged Ionica tightly and said, “I love you. Please bring more visitors.” It was a beautiful reminder that love transcends walls and chains.
